2008 WWOA Gerald H. Slattery Short Course Scholarship Program

The WWOA is pleased to announce that, once again, the Gerald H. Slattery Scholarships are to be awarded to eligible WWOA members for participation in the 59^th Annual Water and Wastewater Operators Short Courses. The Short Courses will be held June 1 – June 6, 2008, at Washington College, Chestertown, Maryland.

The Scholarships cover the expenses of registration, lodging, and meals (as provided by the Short Course) for WWOA members selected at a random drawing to be held at the Southern Section Business Meeting on May 6, 2008. Members need not be present to win. Only one entry per member will be accepted. Up to eight scholarships will be awarded (one each for Maryland, Delaware and District of Columbia; one for each of the four WWOA Sections and one at-large).

To enter the drawing for the Scholarships, simply complete and return the attached entry form so that it is received no later than May 2, 2008, by mail (or you may fax your entry to 301-753-8410 no later than May 2, 2008). Only current WWOA members (2008 dues paid as of April 10, 2008) are eligible. Winners will be notified no later than May 9, 2005. Scholarships are only valid for the 2008 Short Course and are not transferable. If a winner is unable to attend, or receives Short Course funding from any other source (excluding themselves), the scholarship becomes void. The registration fee, lodging, and meal costs will be paid directly to the Short Course. No cash awards will be made directly to the winners. Members of the WWOA Executive Board and the Education Committee Chairperson are not eligible. WWOA is not responsible for lost, stolen, misplaced, unreadable or late entries.
