This 24 hour operating facility opened in June 2008 and is conveniently located in Ashburn, VA.

 

Under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor, the WRF Operator position will be responsible to monitor plant performance, take samples of wastewater flow, operate pumps and other equipment, and maintain the building and grounds of the water reclamation facility. This person will perform analytical, operational, and organizational tasks associated with the wastewater treatment facility laboratory and treatment processes in order to protect the environment and comply with State and Federal Regulations.

 

Maryland driver's license and a high school diploma or the equivalent required. Educated in chemistry or biology is desirable but not mandatory. Maryland Class 5A Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certification is required within three years of employment. Knowledge of and experience with WWTF process control and compliance laboratory operation, or equivalent, is required. Experience with a Lachat QuickChem8 500 auto analyzer is desirable. Employee must have good computer skills (MS Excel and MS Word), good verbal communication skills, and ability to work well as part of a team.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
