The 2009 Joint Conference and Exhibition will be held September 1-4, 2009 at the Clarion Fontainbleau Hotel in Ocean City, MD. Joint Conference Brochures should be delivered to members by US Mail in Mid-July.
Hotel
Reservations: A block of hotel rooms at the Clarion has been
reserved until August 6, 2009, at special conference rates
starting at $165/night (1 or 2 persons), for Monday, Aug. 31st
through Thursday, Sept. 3rd.
(Special conference rates may be available 2 days prior to and 2
days following the conference, based upon availability.) Please make your reservations directly with
the Clarion at 1-800-638-2100, referencing that you are with the
CWEA/WWOA Joint Conference. Rooms
are limited, so please make your reservations early!
Exhibits: There will be up to 79 Exhibitors at the Joint Conference. There are still a few Exhibit Booths available for reservation/sale. If you are interested in Exhibiting, go to EXHIBITORS.
Pre-Conference
Session: The Pre-Conference is scheduled for Tuesday
September 1, from 2 to 5 pm.
The topic of the
Pre-Conference is: "Asset
Management: Do You know Where Your
Assets Are?"
Technical
Sessions: There are 87 Technical
Presentations scheduled to be presented in four concurrent sessions at the
Joint Conference. There are 80 ˝
hour presentations and 7 one-hour presentations scheduled.
Operator
Certification: The Pre-Conference and all
87 Technical Presentations have been approved by the Maryland Board of
Certification for Operator Training Certification Renewal. The 7 one-hour presentations have been
approved for Process Training. By
attending the Pre-Conference and Technical Presentations, a Certified Operator
can receive up to 15 hours of training credit, including up to 7 hours of
Process Training.
Operations
Challenge Competition: Up to 8 teams are scheduled
to compete in an Operations Challenge Competition. Classroom competitions (no spectators) are
scheduled for Wednesday and outdoor competitions (spectators encouraged) are
scheduled for Thursday.
Conference Registration: Conference Registration is now open on ACTEVA.
Pre-Registration by August
21, 2009: Pre-Registration is
available on-line, by mail or by FAX.
Pre-registration payment can be made by Check or Credit Card.
Late Registration, after
August 21, 2009: Late registration (including
a $30 Late Fee) is only available on-line and payment will only be accepted by
Credit Card.
On-Site Registration, September 1–4, 2009: On-site registration (including a $30 Late Fee) will be available at the Registration Desk in the lower lobby of the Clarion Conference Center. On-site registration payment can be made by Check or Credit Card.
Miscellaneous: The Golf Outing this year will be held at the
Ocean City Golf & Yacht Club in nearby Berlin, Maryland on Tuesday
September 1. The Opening Session will be
held Wednesday Morning, September 2, 2009, @ 9:30 am. The Keynote speaker will be Steve Allbee — Project Director, Gap Analysis,
U.S. EPA. An Early Bird reception will
be held in the Exhibit Hall Tuesday night from 5 to 7 pm. A complimentary lunch will be served in the
Exhibit Hall on Wednesday from 11 am to 12:30 pm. The CWEA Business Meeting/Luncheon and
election of 2009-2010 officers will take place @ 11:30 am on Wednesday
September 2. A Meet & Greet
reception will be held in the Exhibit Hall Wednesday night from 5 to 7:30 pm. Casino Night is scheduled for Wednesday night
@ 7:30 pm. The WWOA Business
Meeting/Luncheon will take place @ 12:30 pm on Thursday September 3. The Awards Ceremony and reception will start
@ 6 pm on Thursday.
